Eastern Nepal Region
Trekking in Eastern Nepal Region includes an eastern approach to great Himalayan range including worlds highest mountain Mt. Everest, this region holds Makalu Base Camp, and the area near Kanchenjunga Base Camp. The altitude of this region ranges between 4,877m to 8,848m which includes 8 of the 14 highest summits in the world which exceed to the altitude of 8,000m including Mt. Everest, Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Dhaulagiri and others. Most ethnic groups are represented and many rural destinations such as Dhankutta, Khandbari and Bhojpur are large and prosperous and clean. Eastern Region Nepal was opened for trekkers in 1988 however it is still underdeveloped and trekkers must be fully self-sufficient. through the thick forests of rhododendron in the tropical lowlands and yak grazing pastures at high altitudes, surrounded by peaks of Kanchenjunga, Kambachen, Yalung Kang & Jannu (Mystery Peak) Himalayas.
