Dolpo Shey Festival 2024
Shey Festival is celebrated once in every 12 years at Shey Monastery within the lap of Cristal Mountain locally named Selri Drugda. As Dolpo region is one of the Buddhist land in western part of Nepal bordering with Tibet in the north the land itself is influenced by Tibetan Buddhism and Tibetan culture, In every part of Dolpo celebrates buddhist festival in ancient style of buddhist myth and mythology. It is also the land to learn and explore Tibetan Buddhism moreover the geographical part of Dolpo is highland and most harsh, The land is covered with most unique and old Buddhist monasteries dating back around 11th century BC, The Shey Gompa Monastery is one of them. This trip combines two important experience The Shey Festival Exploration and Another The Cristal Mountain circumambulation. Both are believed that once you attend this festival and circumambulation; you will be purified of your body, speech and mind and also it is a prayer ceremony in regards of wisdom and libration of all living being.
